Construction of a cycle path between Oroszlány and Tatabánya
The newly built cycle path, connecting the outskirts of Tatabánya and Környe to Oroszlány, lies on the banks of the Által stream and its side branches, therefore providing a great destination for bicycle tours as well. The cycle path of more than 12 kilometres significantly reduces car traffic in the connected municipalities while offering both commuting and leisure opportunities. Even on weekdays, more than 600 people use the cycle path to commute or for excursions. The development included building a cyclist rest area, and environmental aspects were taken into account during the project implementation. The project paved the way for the participation of Oroszlány in the European cycle network, as the existing cycle path sections in the direction of Tatabánya, Tata, and Dunaalmás offer a direct connection to the Eurovelo 6 international cycle route network.
