Energy efficiency development of an educational institution in Piliscsaba
The Environment and Energy Efficiency Operational Programme aims to reduce pollution and over-exploitation of natural resources, protecting biodiversity and prioritising sustainability. The modernisation of the sports halls of the Dr László Szepesi Agricultural Vocational School also contributed to the achievement of these objectives. Prior to the development, the sports hall operated with high energy consumption and an uncontrolled heating system, and the building structure was outdated both physically and technically. The heating system of the sports facility was renewed during the modernisation, thus significantly reducing the heating costs of the building, which can now be operated in accordance with the EU Energy Efficiency Directive. The transformation has helped to reduce the institution’s energy consumption and energy bills, while also raising the environmental awareness of students.
