Conservation of natural habitats in the Körös-Maros National Park
The Körös-Maros National Park Directorate has the largest native Hungarian grey cattle stock. Adequate wintering solutions did not exist so far, causing serious issues for the maintenance of the cattle. Thanks to the project, a grey cattle shelter was built, providing adequate protection for the animals during the whole winter. As part of the investment, a buffalo stall was also built to accommodate 200 animals. As a result of the project, the conditions are now suitable for grazing, which is essential for the maintenance of the grassland areas. The development also focused on the protection and conservation of natural areas, such as the habitats of great bustards and the Pannonian saline steppes and marshlands in the area of Dévaványa-Ecseg.
